Volunteer Judges Needed – 4th Annual Carolina Classic Mock Trial Tournament Hosted by Elon Undergraduate Mock Trial

Elon Mock Trial wishes to invite local legal professionals to participate as judges in the Carolina Classic Invitational Tournament at Elon.  Elon competes in the American Mock Trial Association, and they hold their own national tournament at Elon.

This year's tournament is on October 15, 16, and 17 at the Koury Business Center on Elon's main campus.  Judges rate the performance of teams on openings, closings, direct, and cross, and they also rate top attorney's and witnesses.  This year's case is a civil case, and it promises to bring out some good work from the students.  It is exceptionally important that these students, coming from as far away as Harvard and as near as UNC get the experience of trying cases before attorneys.

The rules of evidence are a pretty close derivative of the federal rules.  You really don't need experience in Mock Trial to serve as a judge, and you can judge one round or all the rounds or any number in between.  Please consider joining them if your time allows.

For more information and an online registration form, please visit the Judge website at: http://org.elon.edu/mocktrial/judges.htm.  Please contact Elon University’s Competitive Teams Coach, William Warihay at wwarihay@elon.edu with any questions.
