This Wednesday, January 11, at 5:30 PM, Elon University Law School's Federalist Society chapter will be hosting Professor Carrington of Duke Law and Professor Stephen Ware of Kansas University School of Law. This panel will discuss alternatives methods of installing Supreme Court Justices in North Carolina.
This issue is currently of great interest in North Carolina as Justice Exum, former Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court, has helped draft pending legislation that would change the way the governor fills vacancies on the bench. Governor Purdue recently created a judicial panel to help screen nominees to the supreme court. All members of the Greensboro Bar Association are welcome to attend.
