Free CLE- Expungements & Certificates of Relief
Legal Aid of North Carolina is hosting a free 2.5-hour CLE, “Removing Barriers and Restoring Hope: The Basics of Expungements and Certificates of Relief,” on Thursday, May 29, 2014, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Lincoln Financial Building, 100 N. Greene, 4th Floor, Room C-2. Guests should check in with security on the first floor.
Presenter Daniel Bowes (Attorney, NC Justice Center and Legal Aid of North Carolina) will provide an overview of the barriers to reentry confronting North Carolinians with criminal records as well as a detailed examination of North Carolina’s expunction and Certificates of Relief statutes. The practical skills segment of the program will include case studies.
Lunch will be provided if you pre-register by noon on May 27. Attorneys attending the no-cost CLE training are asked to consider taking a pro bono case on behalf of a Legal Aid client.
