Construction of the 2012 Greensboro Bar Habitat House begins on Saturday, September 15, just three weeks from now. Construction will continue every Saturday through February, when we are scheduled for completion. We badly need more volunteers for our workcrews, especially in the opening weeks that are coming up so soon.
Habitat has set up a special webpage for you to sign up for our house. Please follow the instructions below, using the hyperlink, to access the webpage and choose your preferred work dates. No skills are needed. Skilled leadership will be on the site to give instructions so try something new. You are encouraged to sign up for as many workdays as you like.
2) Complete the short registration at the top of the page
3) In the Access Code field (you have to click on the circle next to it), type inbarhouse-not case sensitive
4) A list of dates on the calendar will show up. Moving your curser over the time (7:45-3:30) will show that day’s task.
5) Sign up for the desired dates/tasks; select the box if you want to sign up for multiple days.
We need two crews on September 15 (morning and afternoon). We will break for an opening ceremony and lunch at noon that day - more on that in a later email. After the 15th, work will begin at 7:30 and end at 3:30. The house is located at 2127 McConnell Rd., in the same block as our last GBA house. You will receive an automatic reminder from Habitat as your workdate approaches with directions to the site and other information.
If you know of others who might be interested in volunteering for a workcrew, whether or not they are lawyers (such as a spouse, significant other or friend), please forward this email to them for them to sign up as well.
